Stuff I Listen To: The Moth

My mate Rich introduced me to The Moth podcast several years ago and I've been an fan ever since. The concept is simple, people tell true stories to a live audience, without notes. It regularly makes me laugh, cry, or even both within the same sub-20 minute episode. Listen online at themoth.org or subscribe to the podcast via iTunes.

No TV - One Month Done

Living without TV (or iPlayer/lovefilm etc.) hasn't been too taxing despite there being several occasions when I'd love to have just vegged out infront of the telly with Sarah.

On the plus side, we've talked more, been out for more walks and generally been more productive with our free time. This blog is a prime example of something I've always planned on doing but have never got round to. "No big loss" you may think, and going by the number of pageviews you may be right, but I'm enjoying myself!

And the biggest consequence (or at least side-effect) of this little experiment is we've bought a house! Well, we're buying a house - our offer has been accepted and everything is moving in the right direction. Sarah and I have been thinking about this for some time and probably would have got around to it eventually, but the lack of TV has really given us the focus and time we needed to ensure this didn't remain another "someday" project.

Nathan Bowen

Whilst wandering to the Tate Modern with my mate Rich, we chanced across Nathan Bowen in the middle of Oxford Street creating some of his iconic Demon Builders.

Does this make me a pro now?

One of my photos of my cousins Lorna Wall and Stuart Brown was printed in a Croydon paper yesterday.
Lorna obviously gets more points for the whole article being about her, but I'm still pretty chuffed.
